My kinda town

The city is buzzing with the excitement of baseball's 'World' Series title coming home to Chicago for the first time in 88 years.

Last night I was out with hundreds of thousands others in bars across the whole Southside of the city (the Northside is home to the Cubs) to witness the Chicago White Sox beat Houston Astros 1-0 and therefore historically sweep the final series 4-0. It was a marvellous achievement with outspoken manager Ozzie Guillan (above) the real hero.

For Cubs fans it will mean years of stick from their fellow Chicagoans but for the Sox it was a momentous occassion and is the first time the countries 3rd biggest city has won any major sporting event since the Michael Jordan inspired Chicago Bulls won the NBA Championship in 1998.
