Week 39 reminder

Saturday 9 May
Pedersen and a McCarthy penalty meant that Blackburn survived relegation at home to Pompey. Sunderland's goalless draw at the Reebok means that Ricky Sbragia's side are still right in the doo-doo. Everton and Spurs played out another score-less draw in a good week for goalkeepers.

Not for Robert Green though, as Gerrard twice and Babel scored against him at Upton Park. The baggies gave their fans some forlorn hope in their 3-1 victory over Wigan, who have given up. Fortune (2) and Brunt scoring.

Stoke beat Hull, who haven't won since Phil Brown found tan in a bottle and Murphy and Kamara twice helped Fulham to another fine win, this time over the Villa.

Sunday, 10 May 2009
Man Yoo saw off city rivals at a canter 2-0 with Ronaldo and Tevez scoring and later Chelsea thrashed Arsenal 4-1 proving the difference between top 3 and 4th perhaps. Alex, Anelka, a Toure o.g. and Malouda got the goals.

Monday 11 May
Newcastle gave the Loony Toons hope with a 3-1 win over rivals Middlesbro. Beye scored an o.g. but goals from Taylor, Martins and Lovenkrands gave Shear-rer his first win.
