Bolton finally won at Wigan after an inspiring performance from Chris Eagles, two late goals for Stoke saw them beat Fulham 2-0, QPR and Blackburn drew 1-1 and Norwich had an important win over Swansea.
Man City went top with another big win, this time over Aston Villa 4-1, Man U held Liverpool at Anfield after a late Hernandez equaliser and Chelsea beat Everton 3-1.
On Sunday WBA beat Wolves in the black country derby, Newcastle and Tottenham played out an entertaining 2-2 draw which keeps the Geordies 4th and two Van Persie goals gave Arsenal an unconvincing win at home to Sunderland.
