Week 38 review

Saturday May 1st
In the big games for 4th place Tottenham's Huddlestone scored from long range to beat Bolton and keep them in pole position. City beat Villa 3-1, despite going a goal down. Tevez, Adebayor and Bellamy scored.

Birmingham beat Burnley 2-1 and remain on course for their best finish in 51 years. Burnley meanwhile have have managed only two league wins since 31 October. Pompey beat safe Wolves 3-1, if it wasn't for the 10 point reduction Avram Grant's team would be above both Burnley and Hull. Stoke and Everton drew 0-0.

Sunday May 2nd
Chelsea moved a step closer to the title beating a woeful Liverpool 2-0. Gerrard frankly should get minus fantasy points for his backpass that gifted Drogba the first goal. Lampard got the 2nd. United did beat Sunderland thanks to a Nani finish to take the title race to the last day.

Fulham beat West Ham 3-2 in an entertaining London derby. It was Fulham's first home league win over West Ham in 44 years with victory.

Monday May 3rd

Hull's relegation was confirmed as they failed to beat Wigan 22-0. They drew 2-2 instead. Arsenal could still lose out on 3rd after being beaten by Blackburn 2-1 at Ewood.
