Week 41 reminder

The final weekend of scores and the excitement was all at the relegation end of business.

All five bottom teams lost on the last day showing how shit they were. Sunderland lost at home to Chelsea but at least put up a battle. Richardson equalised Anelka's opening goal, then Kalou put The Blues ahead with Cole adding the third before Jones got a consolation for the Black Cats. However by then news of Boro and Newcastle's demise had The Stadium of Light in raptures.

Hull lost at home to Man Utd reserves 1-0, with Gibson scoring a stunning goal. But Hull stayed up and permatan man Phil Brown sung karoake on the pitch afterwards.

Middlesbrough lost at Upton Park 2-1. Gary O'Neil's 50th minute goal meaning nothing as Carlton Cole and youngster Stanislas getting the Hammers.

And finally dear old Newcastle dropped into the Championship amongst tears at Villa Park as their heroes succumbed meekly to Villa 1-0. Dunn scoring an o.g.

Already relegated West Brom drew 0-0 at Blackburn, Caicedo got Citeh's winner over Bolton. Fulham lost at home to Everton, Osman scoring twice, but still qualified for the Europa Cup, well done to Roy Hodgson.

Rodallega scored Wigan's winner over Pompey, in probably Steve Bruce's last game at he JJB as Wigan manager. Arsenal thrashed Stoke 4-1 at The Emirates and Liverpool stuffed Tottenham 3-1 to secure 2nd place.
