A quick look at the Premiership teams and how they got on.... Arsenal beat Plymouth 3-1, Chelsea as you will read below were held to a draw at the Bridge by the Super Shrimpers, Villa came through a tough tie at the Gills, Newcastle and Hull in an all Prem clash were goalless, and yes replay's count in the points total. Stoke were knocked out by Stoke in one of the round's big shocks.

In another one Nottm Forest thrashed the world's richest club 3-0. Citeh also lost to Brighton in the Carling Cup earlier in the season. Everton won at Macclesfield, Boro beat non league Barrow, just 2-1. Pompey were held by Bristol City at Fratton Park, whilst Liverpool won reasonably cmfortably at Preston, a game I saw on the box.

Foolham continued their fine season under Hodgson with a impressive win in a tough-looking tie at Sheff Wed. Man U's youngsters won at Southampton. Sunderland beat Bolton in another all Premier clash and Spurs beat Wigan likewise. And finally
Peterborough got a fine draw at the Hawthorns.
