It’s crunch time for our team Maidenhead United as they make the long trip to Nationwide Conference side Stafford Rangers for their first FA Cup first round tie in 35 years.
The Magpies are in superb form going into tomorrow’s game, winning their last seven league and cup matches, including a 1-0 defeat of Merthyr Tydfil in the last round courtesy of a Dominic Sterling goal. Here is some inside knowledge on them:
Formed: 1870
Nicknames: Magpies
Stadium: York Road, which is in the middle of Maidenhead's town centre.
Capacity: 4,500
Colours: Black & White stripes, but they will be wearing their away 'Arsenal' kit Saturday.
Little known fact 1: Ex-Hammer Alan Devonshire was manager for 7 years until 2003.
Little known fact 2: They were FA Cup quarter finalists in 1875!
Little known fact 3: They have a women chairman, Una Loughrey.
The best of the action will be shown on Match of the Day and a report will appear later on here next week.
